Medical Assistant:
REPORTS TO:
Office Manager or their assigned designee such as, Lead Medical AssistantPosition Relationships:
Does not supervise any other employees
Responsibilities:
Collects and electronically documents patient information including but not limited to the patient's medical history, HPI/ chief complaint, and MIPS.
Documents patient examination including but not limited diagnoses and treatment plans.
Generates and sends prescriptions under Provider's supervision.
Assists Providers in all aspects of patient care.
Properly executes sterile and or A< oeclean' techniques while setting-up and assisting Providers in procedures including but not limited to biopsies, surgeries and cultures.
Is able to listen to Provider and order correct Rx's and labs.
Follows all office protocols and SOP.
Properly logs all specimens.
Reviews wound care and post-procedure care/instructions.
Counsels patients on treatment plan.
Answers the phone, schedules patients and operates scheduling systems and EMR system.
Performs prior authorizations.
Is educated on cosmetic products and services, and counsel's patients when appropriate.
Signs patients up for award programs.
All other duties assigned, including but not limited to training of other employees.
Requirements:
Education:
High School Diploma or Equivalent, and or completion of Medical Assistant Program or equivalent.
May be substituted with a college degree or college credits.
Experience:
1-2 years experience working as a Medical Assistant.
Dermatology experience highly preferred.
EMA experience highly preferred.
Physical requirements:
This is an active job.
Employee Must be mobile and able to stand for prolong periods of time, up to 8 hours.
Must be able to walk throughout 8hrs of the day.
Must be physically able to help lift patients as needed.
Must be able to lift 50lbs.
Must be able to hold, operate and document on an i-pad and or other electronic devices for up to 8 hours a day.
Communication:
Must have excellent communication skills.
Must be able to verbally communicate to patients, staff and supervisors.
Must speak English.
Must be able to type and have working knowledge of computer, tablets such as ipads.
Must be able to answer and properly operate telephone with excellent telephone etiquette.
Understands and complies with all medical privacy laws and protections such as HIPPA.
Displays compassion and care when dealing with patients.
Is pleasant, courteous and conducts themselves in a professional and tactful manner.
Follows all office SOPS and Protocols.
Has critical thinking skills.
Is able to function independently or in a team setting.
Is able to work effectively and productively in a high paced environment.
Is able to increase pace as needed, especially when Provider has fallen behind schedule.
Is able to maintain a professional appearance as outlined in handbook.
Work hours:
Monday- Friday 8am-5pm

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
