is looking for a Health and Safety Manager with manufacturing experience to lead the Health & Safety efforts of their flavor and fragrance ingredient manufacturing sites located in Harford County, Maryland.

The Health and Safety Manager will emphasize a culture of safety continually working to reduce risk and eliminate injuries, occupational illnesses, and property damage juggling multiple priorities and serving as a role model and leader.
This individual provides advice on matters related to safety, health, and wellness in accordance with local, state, and Federal OSHA regulations in alignment with company goals and values.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations - Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions - Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and develop strategies for prevention - Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, including detailed reports and documentation - Provide safety training to employees on topics such as hazard identification, emergency response, and personal protective equipment (PPE) - Collaborate with management and employees to promote a culture of safety awareness and accountability - Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and changes in safety regulations.
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related field, Over 10 years of HS experience with qualifying certifications will be considered in lieu of degree.
- Proven experience as a Safety Manager or similar role at a manufacturing facility.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and workers' compensation laws - Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct root cause analysis - Excellent written and verbal communication skills for report writing and training development - CPR and first aid certification - Ability to fabricate solutions to address safety concerns - Familiarity with EPA regulations is a plus This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated Safety Manager to join our team.
